Registration
At iAccounting we make it easy to register a WSIB account by collecting and submitting all required information through the appropriate online applications, throughout a 5 to 10 business days process in order to receive a WSIB number and, ultimately, WSIB insurance coverage.

Since January 1, 2013, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board requires most businesses in the construction industry to provide employees with coverage under WSIB. Under new legislation, independent operators, sole proprietors, some partners in a partnership and some executive officers who work in construction will also be required to have WSIB coverage.
As of January 1, 2014, any construction businesses that have not registered will face non-compliance charges up to $25,000 for individuals and $100,000 for corporations, and will be required to pay retroactive premiums for all of 2013.
Employers that may be required to register with the WSIB and have not done so should strongly consider contacting the WSIB (www.wsib.on.ca) voluntarily in order to obtain the benefit of the Voluntary Registration Policy, and hopefully avoid significant retroactive premiums and penalties.
